Dominion Road Trams,
Attention was drawn to the inconvenience of the new .signs on the Dominion Road cars by several members who contended that "Dominion Koad" should continue to be displayed iii large letters, and not "Mount Ro'skill."
"The new signs are doing the under taking a lot of harm," commented Mr W. H. Najjld;

A report by the manager said that an unemployed deputation had waited on him and pointed out that no concession was • available for those who desired to travel two section. only on the cars. During the present wet weather this was a hardship to relief workers, and lie felt sure many of them would travel on the cars if a concession were available for the two section riders . An appropriate fare for the tworecticn relief workers would be (id for; two days, 0d for three days, and 1/ for, four days. The men niuinly travelled in the opposite direction to the flow of ordinary trailic. The present two, three and four-day tickets available for any number of sections at 1/, 1/0 and 2/ respectively, would remain. The report was adopted. Fare to Carlaw Park. It w>. decided not to reduce the fare to Oi iuw Park to one penny as suggested by the Auckland. Rugby League. The manager's report on the extension of the Waikowhai feeder bus service from Three Kings tram terminus to Greenwood's Corner was adopted, the fare to be 2d cash or by a one-section concession ticket either way. Mr. Ford stated that the estimated cost would be £552 additional to the present service. Conversion of Loans. Schedules giving particulars of tramwuy loans were presented by the chairman. The schedule dealt with loans domiciled in the Dominion, and showed that for a considerable portion of the loan issues the board did not enjoy a reduction of interest to the full 20 per cent. It recommended principally that the tramway loans domiciled in the Dominion, totalling £402,700, be consolidated and converted to a new issue to mature on March 31, 1D53, at a rate of interest of 4£ per cent.
