ONE DAY TRIAL
GOOD FIELD PROMISED.
The number of entries already received for the Auckland Motor Cycle Club'e reliability trial on June 3 showe an encouraging revival of interest among riders, possibly the result of the allround discussion at last general meeting, when it was pointed out that the fields lining up for recent trials had been smaller than previously. For the June 3 trial, ridere are to assemble at the Auckland railway station at 0.30 a.m., and start away at 10
a.m. for Whitford, via Kohitnarama ami Howick, maintaining an average speed of 28 miles per hour. From Whitford to Clevedon, the next check, the sqhedule speed is 25 m.p.h., and from ClevecloiJ to Hunua 20 m.p.h. After lunch at Hunua, the riders will be subjected to a starting test before leaving for Takanini, wliore there wijl be an observed water splash '-"the same that has brought sundry good riders to grief in previous trials, Tliq average speed over this section will be 30 m.p.h., and this will be maintained, from Takanini to the finishing line at Campbell Park, via Papatoetoe, Mangere and Onehunga. The ridere who keep to the schedule should finish at 4 p.m., Two-stroke machines will have a 10 per cent time allowance, In addition to those at Takanini, observers will be posted at two clay sections at one hill section. Points will be deducted for noisy machines and for breaches of by-laws or road etiquette. WAITEMATA CLUB'S RUN. Although the weather was threaten* ing, about 20 ridere turned out for the Waitemata Motor Cycle Club's run to the Raventhorpe Tea Garden at Runciman on Sunday. Led by A. Myers, on a Royal Enfteld, the party left from the junction of Manukau and Great South Roads at 10 a.m. At first Myers set a pace too hot for some of the lighter machines, but elowed down when the field began to string out along the road. After lunch a sports meeting was held, the results pf which were:— Bending Competition.—M. Buchanan (Dot), 1} Bryant (Sun), 2; A. The general meeting of the Auckland Motor Cycle Club for the presentation of prices and election of officers is to be held on June 12. , WHANGAREI VISIT. , The annual week-end visit of the Waiteniata Motor Cycle Club to Whangarej hae 'been tentatively fixed for June 10 and 11.
