OTAKIJIiU SAILING CLUB. PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. The thirty-eighth annual prize distribution of Iho Otaliuhu Sailing Club was held hist even ins i" the public hall, in the presence of a large gathering of members and their lady friends, also representatives from the Ponsonby and Tainaki Clubs. The commodore, Mr. J. K. Morgan, welcomed the visitors and said the club had been fortunate in the number of donors of trophies tor which twelve races were held. The membership increased during the season, especially amongst the juniors. The clubhouse was in good order, and he wished to thank Mr. J. Graham for two enlargements of the club's regatta day races.

Mr. Morgan requested Mr. T. Clements, president of the club, and Mayor of Otahuhu, to present the prizes.

Mr. Clements congratulated the officers nml members on their successful season, and especially on their attention to junior members who would be the prize-winners of tlie future. Mr. Clements mentioned that the club was one of the oldest aquatic elubs in Auckland, being now in its thirty-eighth year. One of the original founders, Mr. H. Foarnley, was still an active worker, his duties Including those of bandicapper, judge and starter.

The list Included the following first prizewinners, Cyclone (8), Surprise, Rival (2), Wayward. Ventura, Spindrift and Champagne, one each. The race for youths under 21 was won by Master Jack Walker (11 years) in Rahiri 11. The points cup was won by Mr. R. Eddlesten's Rival with a total of 41 points. The champion pennant for the cruising races was won by Commodore J. K. Morgan's Surprise. Special prizes were donated by the Herbert Smith trustees (Hamilton) for swimming races for boys and girls, the winners being Miss K. Kyan nml Master D. Jury.

Prizes were donated by Messrs. T. Clements. J. Graham. W. West. H. Kearnley, G. Hughson, A. Parton. J. R. Morgan,- X. Clark nml J. Burns an<l Co.
