FOOTBALL EPISODE.

WHOLE TEAM LEAVES FIELD. PLAYER SEVERELY CAUTIONED. (By Telegrapl).—Press Association.) PAHIATUA, this day. In the course of a senior Rugby football match on Wednesday, the referee ordered A. Mahoney, a Konini player, off the field, and the whole team went off.

The Bush Rugby Football Union considered the matter on Saturday night in committee, and resolved that in view of the publicity already given the affair, and the fact that Mahoney had already stood down one Saturday, he be severely cautioned against rough play. The union also resolved that any team leaving the field in future should be severely dealt with, and that no excuse be accepted, the penalty being suspension for four playing Saturdays at least. In the case of two players ordered off at Mangatainoka .for fighting on Saturday, the men were strongly cautioned and ordered to stand down till June 8.
