SERIOUS CHARGES.

DEVONPORT MAN FOR TRIAL. MAGISTRATE REFUSES BAIL. A Devonport seedsman, Alfred Herbert Clist, aged 35, appeared in the Police Court this morning charged on two informations, with indecently assaulting a male, on April 13 and May 7. Detective-Sergeant McHugh prosecuted, and Mr. W. W. Meek appeared for accused. After hearing tho evidence, Clist, who pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. The magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, refused to grant bail.
