SPILT INK CLUB.

The second meeting of the Auckland branch of the Spilt Ink Club was held at the residence of Mrs. E. M. Doust, Grayson Avenue, Mount Eden, on Saturday afternoon. Some of the latest books by modern authors were discussed, but the lasting popularity of the works of Charles Dickens, with their humour and pathos, were dwelt upon at length. A lively discussion followed upon a subject brought forward by a member: "Is any great literary work entirely respectable?" Among those present were: Mesdame* I. B. Cluett, Scott Young, Una Craig, Svdney Smith, Jean Boswell, E. M. Doust, F. K. Scott, Court. V. M. Richmond, Misses De Montalk (2), Dulcay Bowman and Doust.
