AUCKLAND AMATEURS. Under perfect conditions a-23-mile invitation handicap race was held at Te Atatu on Saturday. The plnclngs were: —G. P. Clark (M.), C 7.5 riding time, 1; K. N. AUCKLAND CLUB. ; Ideal road racing conditions prevailed for [ the Auckland Cycle Club's events at Tamaki . on Saturday. The juniors held their ! longest race to date, 10J miles, while the seniors' distance was 16 miles. Starters ' numbered 36. Result:— • K. McKenzie (4.15), riding time 36.7 1 : D. Jack (4.0) 2 N. Whiting (4.0) '. 3 S. Wellcr (scr) 4 Fastest time was recorded by S. TVeller (scr) in 32.17. The senior race resulted; — A. Brass (1.40) 1 G.Hall (2.0) 2 W> Pinker (2.0) 3 H. Kopu (4.0) 4 Fastest time was also returned by A. I Brass, who did 46.37, beating Eric Cleaver, 46.41, by 4s. TAKAPUNA CLUB. Fair conditions prevailed on Saturday when the Takapuna Amateur Cycling Club conducted an invitation race of 22J miles over its practically level course arouud Lake Pupuke. The successful riders were:— C. "Tiny" Hansen (Manukau), off 2.0, time 57.50 1 Eddie R. Hansen (Mauukau), 4.30, 50,21 2 Gordon Wheelhouse (Manukau), 5.0, 00.52 3 Jack \V. Clark (Manukau), 3.30, 59.23 4 A. Lydford (Takapuna), 3.30, 09.24 .. 5 Ces. Johnson (Auckland Club), off 1.30, secured fastest time in 57.20 for the 22i miles, while lies. Dwight, scr (Manukau), was next fastest in 57.36, both fast riders, which indicates pretty clearly that the Takapuna Club possesses an ideal road circuit. LYNNDALE AMATEURS. The result of the 25-tnilc road race over four laps; carried out by the Lynndale amateurs, resulted in L. Roberts being first in and recording fastest time. Results:— L. Roberts (6m), 52.22. 1: A. Davies (0.30), 85.55, 2; E. Bates (2.0), 53.0, 3; V. Harris (4.0), 57.0, 4. Fastest time: D. Roberts, 52.22. LADIES' CLUB. There were again five starters In th? weekly road race conducted by the Auckland Toadies' Amateur Cycling Club on Saturday. The detailed results are:—Miss T-I. Robinson (2.0). 13.29. 1 ; Miss H. M. Storey (2.0), 14.9, 2; Miss E. A. Hansen (1.45). 14.15, 3. Fastest time: Miss V. E. Baird (scr), 3 2.41. Points for first, eecond ami third (but not fastest time), and for a start count each Saturday for Mr. Kohn's Cup.
PAPATOETOE CLUB. The Papatoefue Cycle Club's races were advanced a further stage, when a 19J miles race was run. Weather conditions -would have been perfect but for a fairly strong breeze. The riders were dispatched in the following order: It. Waite. 14.0; R. Oibbs, 10.0; N. Warden, 11. Hadlield, .1. MacKenzie, 5.30; A. Vasey, 5.0; A. Pinfold, 3.45; K Moffot, O. White. G. Jones, 2.30; S. Pinfold. ,T. Brown, 1.0; R. L. Francis, I. C. Bellini, scr. The finish resulted :—R. Gibbs (10.0), 0fi.20. 1; A. Pinfold (3.45), 59.35, 2; J. Brown (1.0), 55.51. 3; S. Tinfold (1.0), 58.52, 4. Fastest time: J. Brown 55.51. Won by 30s.
