A CLEAN CITY
In the clays of the Roman emperors every man, woman, and child used on an average 50 gallons of water a day, aji extravagant enough amount.
But there is a part of the United States, Tacoma, where water is so abundant that 430 gallons a day is used per head. Engineers who have been studying the problems of water supply have come across the amusing fact that in medieval Paris the consumption of -water per head was one quart daily.
