BOWLING.
MOUNT ALBERT CLUB. A successful pairs tournament was played on Mount Albert green, C. Hardley and Irving Clarke (West End) winning outright with five wins. The final of the pairs tournament held recently was played yesterday afternoon, an excellent game resulted :—H. I-lawko, T. Maxwell (Mount Albert) 22, v. Puddle, Hosking (Grey Lynn) 10. A pairs. tourney will be held next Wednesday.

First-year players: W. Marshall beat F. Osborne. Percentage fours: W. Rackett, H. Cadness, A. Smith, F. Osborne. PAPAKURA CLUB. At tlie Papakura Bowling Club's annual general meeting Mr. 13. D. McLennan presided in the. absence o£ the president, Mr. F. .T. Lound, who was accorded a vote of sympathy in the loss of his father. The club members discussed the matter of supporting sympathetically (ho moving to a more central position, but no resolution was determined. Officers clceted :—Vice-presidents; Messrs. F. Kirton and G. H. Goddard ; secretary, Mr. W. Boage.v; treasurer. Mr. S. Evans; committee. Messrs. Rice, Hunt, Dunckley, H. 13. McEntee; auditor, Mr. .T. F. Johnstone : election of two trustees to till vacancies, Messrs. S. JOvans and W. Boage.v ; delegate to Auckland Centre, Mr. F. J. Lound.
MR. DUNCAN McGREGOR.
Tho Carlton Bowling Club Is losing n highly esteemed and useful member in Mr. Duncan McGregor, who leaves for Gisbornc to-dav, after being in the, club since IDOG, when lie won Jhe tirst-year championship. Mr. McGregor wil lie very greatly missed, for lie has often held office, was treasurer for four vcars. and president for tiiree years. IS)2\ to 1024. Yesterday the Itfrge assembly of members and visitors who are always'seen on the Carlton green on a line afternoon, own in the winter, adjourned lo the pavilion to give a formtil farewell to the dejinrtins member, and good wishes for a prosperous and enjoyable time in Gisbornc were expressed by Mr. G. U. Pollard, vice-president of the club and acting-president since the recent death of Mr. .Tames Clnrkson. Mr. Pollard's happy remarks were endorsed with cheers, and Mr. McGregor was greeted with musical honours when he rose to thank the members for tiieir kind wishes and to assure them how much he had enjoyed liis association with the club for over a quarter of a century. There are three large bowling dugs iii Gisborne, each with a membership of over 100, and Mr. McGregor will probably join the parent club.
