LESS ILLNESS.
NO EVIDENCE OF UNDERFEEDING. MINISTER'S STATEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CIIRISTCHURCH, Friday. Statistics compiled by the Government health authorities showed that there was no evidence of malnutrition among school children in New Zealand, said the Minister of Health, the Hon. J. A. Young, to-day. The Minister said that in spite of statements as to the effects of underfeeding, it was a remarkable fact that in New Zealand, as well as other countries, there was evidence of a falling-off 111 sickness. Many hospitals previously overcrowded now had beds lying idle. It had been proved that this was not due to people being unable to afford treatment, but because sickness was definitely declining.
