American Explorer Claims Tibetan Discovery. LOFTIER THAN EVEREST. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON", May 16. As a coincidence and in connection with the British Everest flyers' unrevcaled discovery of a huge lake at an altitude of 25,000 feet, an American explorer, Harrison Format, who has just returned from Tibet, informed the "Daily Telegraph" that he was only two days march from what he is convinced is a higher mountain than Everest when hostile tribes caused his abandonment of the expedition.
