LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
WEDNESDAY COMPETITION. SEVEN CLUBS TO TAKE PART. The proposal to resume the Wednesday competition under the auspices of the Auckland Rugby League took definite shape last evening, when it was decided to send a deputation to the Board of Control seeking the use of Carlaw Park for opening day. Seven clubs were represented at the meeting of fifteen delegates. In the absence of the chairman of the Auckland League, Mr. Ivan Culpan, secretary, explained the views of the controlling body, and the minutes of the 1031 annual meeting were approved. The report and balance-sheet on that season, revealing a credit balance of £11 10/6, were also adopted. It was announced that the following teams would be entered for the competition: —Amalgamated Theatres (2), Railway, Checker Taxis, Atta Taxis, Seamen United, Victoria United, and City Markets. Officers elected were:—Patron. Mr. W. Monteith; vice-patron, Mr. Ernest Davis; president, Mr. M. J. Moodabe; vice-presi-dents, the Mayor of Auckland (Mr. G.-W. Hutchison), Messrs J. B.'Donald, S. Garland, McDonald, C. Russell, W. Dervan, C. H. Trigg, J. Sayegh, B. Keith; chairman, Mr. A. R. Turner; lion, secretary, Mr. V. Anderson; hon. treasurer, Mr. T. Tracey. It was decided that the executive should consist of the chairman, secretary, treasurer, and a representative of each club, as follows: —Messrs. M. Keenan (Amalgamated Theatres), L. Keat (Railway), W. Skelton (Checker), W. Stone (Atta), J. Scott (Seamen United), W. Tobin (Victoria United), and a delegate for City Markets, with C. Stanley and A. Black ex otticio members.
Junior Management. The junior management committee of the Auckland Rugby League met last evening, Mr. Wilkio presiding. New Lynn protested against Glen Ora Club in connection with the colour of their jerseys. The management decided that Glen Ora were in the wrong, and the match would be replayed later, if having any bearing on the grade championship. Mount Albert were awarded the third open match against Ponsonby, several of the latter club's players not being entitled to play. Richmond fourths were awarded the match against Devonport, a player in the latter team not having weighed in. Several other protests were dealt with. It was decided to draw attention to the late starting of several matches, Mr. F. Thompson being deputed to place the matter before the Referees' Association. Registrations were entered by Ponsonby, Marist Old Boys, Point Chevalier, and City X Transfers Granted:—R. McLaren, Point Chevalier seconds to Newton, Mt. Albert third intermediates to Glen Ora: J. Phillips, Ponsonby third open to Marists; -T. De Grey, Ellerslio fifths to Akarana; L. Vail, Marists to Akaranu: C. Lund, Marisls to City: J. Griff en, City sixths to Northcote fifths.
