ST. JOHN'S GUILD.

St. John's Methodist Women's Guild held the twenty-sixth animal meeting in the school hall yesterday afternoon. The Rev. G. T. Laurenson, recently appointed superintendent of the Auckland West Circuit, presided. Tho report presented by Miss Cora Veale stated that for the ninth consecutive year there wero no outstanding subscriptions. The treasurer's report showed credit balances of £7 0/2, £3 3/, and £2 7/8 respectively, also that the sum of £39 13/G had been paid to the Church Trust during the past year. The reports presented by Mrs. S. L. Hirst, convener of parsonage house committee, Mrs. HutcMiw, assistant-convener of the orphanage committee, Mrs. T. W. Jackson, convener of the afternoon tea committeey Mrs. Braithwaite, convener of the visiting committee, Mrs. Smith, reporter, and Mise Bouskill, delegate to the National Council of Women, were gratifying. The Rev. G. I. Laurenson thanked tho retiring , officers, especially Mrs. Geo. Frost, who ihad been the giiild'e president for tfliree years, and Miss Cora Veale for her work as secretary for the past five years, ae well as Mr. J. M. Heed, Mr. J. Hastie, and all who had assisted to make the guild year a success. , The. election of officers was ae follows:—President, Mrs. G. I. Laurenson; secretary, Mre. George Smith; treasurers, Miss Hawkins and Miss Cora Veale; advisory treasurer, Mr. W. A. Cooke; parsonage house committee, Mrs. Hirst (convener). Mrs. G. I. Laureneon and. Miss Tickner; afternoon tea, Mrs. Stoodley (convener), Mrs. Jnckson, Mrs. Harrowell, Mrs. Hardley, Mrs. Russell, Miss Tickner and Mies Hawkins; orphanage committee, Mre. Buckley Mrs. Hutehins, Mrs. Hirst, Mrs. Braithwaite, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Wade, Mrs. E. E. Pierce, Mise, Bouskill and Miss King; visiting committee, Mrs. Braithwaite, Mrs. Sto-VJey, Mrs. Smith and Mies. Ticknor; reporter, Mrs. E. E. Pierce; look-out, Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. W. A. Cooke; church trustee, Mies Wilson; delegate to National Council of Women, Miss Bouskill; pianist, Mrs. Wade.
