Although fat. cattle were penned fo average numbers at Westfield stock market this morning, prices generally Were not quite so good as last week, bidding being less brisk. . ' The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Ltd., report:—To-day at o Ur weekly Westfield fat stock market beef was penned in fully average numbers. The demand was dull, and values receded 1/ tn 2/ per 1001b. Extra choice ox sold to 17/ per 1001b; choice and prime ox, 14/ to 16/' ordinary and plain ox, 12/ to 13/6; prime young cow and heifer beef, 13/ to 15/ordinary cow beef, 0/ to 12/. Extra heavv prime steers ranged in price from £6 10/ to £7 10/; heavy, £.5 15/ to £6 7/6lighter. £s'to £5 12/6; light, £1 5/. to £4 17/0; unfinished arid-small, £2 10/ to £4. Extra heavy prime. young cows and heifers. £4 to £4 10/; heavy, £3 5/ to £3 17/6: lighter, £2 12/6 to £3 2/6; light, £2 to £2 10/; other cows, £1 to £1 17/6
