ASSESSOR ELECTED.

CITY RATEPAYERS' CHOICE. An announcement that Mr. F. A. Jarrctt had received the largest .number of votes at a meeting of city ratepayers held yesterday to elect an assessor to the Assessment Court was made to-day by the town clerk, Mr. J. S. Brigham. The result of the ballot will be notified to tho City Council, which makes the appointment. Four nominations wero submitted to the meeting, namely, Messrs. C. F. Bennett (previous assessor), I. B. D. Esam, Jarrett and H. E. Vaile. There was an attendance of 13G ratepayers.

Mr. Jarrett is a Mount Albert resident, who has been in business in Auckland as a valuer for 13 years and has epecialised in Assessment Court work for five years.
