VISITORS IN STRONG POSITION. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 15. In reply to the ]00 scored by West Indies, the Essex eleven were all dismissed for 86 (Martindale eight .wickets for 32). The West Indians in the second innings "declared" at 370 for six wickets (Da Costa 105 not out, Wiles 71, Headley 50). Requiring 391 to win Essex reached 17 without loss when stumps were drawn for the day.
