FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. A QUIET MORNINQ. Business on the Auckland Stock Exchange opened quietly this morning, and bidding was mainly confined to a restatement of the week-end quotations. Government stocks were again in request, with buyers for the 4 per cent bonds from £100 5/ to £100 10/, and for the stocks from par to £100 5/, according to maturity dates. For 3V 2 's £99 10/ was available for all dates. The only parcel offering was one of 4 per cent stock (1910). for which £100 15/ was asked. In the insurance section a slightly easier tone i*as again noticeable. Nationals were quoted ex div., with buyers at 16/3. Grand Junctions had fresh business at 4/, with more wanted at that figure. The Noon Call. The market generally was firm but quiet at the noon call, and only four sales were recorded. Auckland Gas failed to sustain their recent rise, and business was done .at 3d below the level of last week, with moreavailable at the reduced price. Bycroft's sold again at the value reached last week, with further holders asking 6d more and buyers stopping at 6d less. The rise in Electro. Zinc preference shares reflects the improvement in metal prices, and shows an increase of over 3/ since March. Wilsons Cements were firm, and buyers advanced their limits to the price of late sales.
