NEW LYNN SCHOOL.

A meeting of the New Lynn School Committee was held to consider the resolutions passed by the householders of New Lynn at their annual meeting. It was unanimously decided to forward the resolutions to the Minister of Education. Indignation was expressed at the raising of the school age, and at the small amount of capitation grant. The householders, realising the impossibility of paying for the school's water out of this grant, are calling on the Government to either increase it or to take the burden of the water rates from the shoulders of the school committee. It was contended that New Lynn has to pay the City Council for the water, which ought to be reimbursed, and as the Government does not, through insufficiency of funds, permit the committee to settle , this debt, then the Government itself | should find a way to pay.
