WANGANUI MEETING.

ALL SUPREME PLEASES. PROSPECTS OF GANPAT. SATURDAY'S TRAINING WORK. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") WANGANUI, Saturday. The only visiting horses to arrive so far are Autumn Dawn, Jen and Lolla Quex. As a result of his fall at Hawera last Saturday Jen still appears to be a bits sore, but he has been paid up for in the Grandstand Steeples next Thursday. After fulfilling his Wanganui engagements Autumn Dawn is to be taken north, to Takanini. The weather this morning was fine, and the tracks in good order, and fast for this period of the year. romp, with his trainer in the saddle, ran rive furlongs very nicely in 1.1%. The son of Absurd is in great fettle, and what beats him in the Winter Oats next Thursday should win. Crown Link and No Humbug went a mile, but the former was of no use to his companion, No Humbug finishing a dozen lengths in front in 1.51. Crown Link has been giving his trainer some anxiety, as he shows signs of soreness at times. Arisus, with a light-weight up, ran a mile, being picked up at the five furlongs by All Supreme. The Thespian gelding covered the first half-mile in 51 l-ss, and , the mile in 1.44, All Supreme having

his head in front at the post. ArifiilS is to be a starter in the Empire Handicap, in which he has 8.0. He is in splendid order, and he promises to run a big race. All Supreme will not be a runner on Thursday, but the Chief Ruler gelding will probably be seen out in the live-furlong hack race on Saturday. Supreme is engaged on each day at Ellerslie, and with a race at Wanganui he should be very lit by the time the Auckland meeting conies round. He will be well worth watching in his northern engagements, as lie is a very promising sort—one which should soon win his way out of hack company. Knollmere has always been a good track worker, but in his most recent engagements he lias not shaped like a genuine customer. He strode out in good style in cutting out live furlongs, wide out, in 1 oVs. Arastar looks improved by his recent racin", and was not extended to run three furlongs in 3!)s. The son of Arausio is engaged in the Rata Hack on Thursday, but if Tango starts in that event he is sure to bo a good favourite. Ganpat and Autumn Dawn, two Century Hurdle candidates, were put over a couple of schooling hurdles twice. Ganpat, who had his trainer (M. Jennings) in the saddle, was much too fast for his companion, but he. did not jump too well. Ganpat is in great nick, and if he negotiates the hurdles all right will take a lot of beating next Thursday.
