ON 'CHANGE.
FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. BUSINESS IS FAIR. LATE VALUES MAINTAINED. A fair number of sales have been recorded on the Auckland Stock Exchange since last report, and values generally have been well maintained. In the banking section New South Wales were firm, with buyers at £29 10/, holders standing out for £30. Goldsbrough, Morts improved, and had buyers at £1 3/3, and buyers for Tooth's Breweries advanced their offers to £1 16/6. Bycroft's shares are still firm, and at this morning's call there were still buyers at £1 16/, and holders asking £2. The effect of the rise in metal prices was seen in fresh offers of £12/ for Mount Lyells, and of 6/3 for Kuala Kampar. Buyers for Northern Roller Mills preference shares raised offers to £1. Government stocks were firm, with bids for 4 per cents at £100 5/ to £100 10/, and for 3%'s at £99 10/. The Noon Call. Good business was done during the morning, and there was a list of eleven sales at the noon call. South British were firm, slightly above recent values, and further holders were asking £3 6/6, with buyers 6d lower. Auckland Gas continued to sell well , without any change in price, and there were more available. Devonport Steam had their first sale since March, and showed a rise of 1/. The value of Bank of New Zealands was fully maintained, and, after the sale, sellers moved up 2d,, making a margin of 4d in the market. The increasing firmness of Mount Lyells was again in evidence, and a 3d rise was shown since yesterday. Holders were ready to part with more at this figure, and offers were 3d lower. In Government securities interest centred on the"S% per. cent stocks, which sold for £99 15/ in all issues. There was then no further scrip, either of bonds or stocks, offering. SALES COMPLETED.
