SYDNEY JARVIS BREAKS A.'V.'T

DUNEDIN, this day

Swimming yesterday in the Otago Boys High School carnival, Sydney Jarvis established the unique record of winning every championship in which he started in record school time. The events and times were:—33 1-3 yards, 17s (previous school record 18 2-ss); 6G 2-3 vards, 39s (42 2-ss); 100 yards, 66 4-5s (70 4-ss); 33 1-3 yards backstroke, 23 4-5s (33 2-ss). . - His brother, W. J. Jarvis, the Otago intermediate champion, had no opposition in the school championships and won all three free style events and the backstroke. He established a new 220 yards record of 2.46 3-5 unpaced, and equalled his own school record for SO yards ot 20 3-ss. " ... i ,i i C. Elliott, one of the leading local breaststroke swimmers, set a new record ot 4a 4-5s for the 66 2-3 yards breaststroke.
