THE WORLD'S BEST.
NORTHLAND JERSEYS. EXPERT'S HIGH TRIBUTE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAXGAREI, this day. Messrs. A. Christie and Company's dispersal sale of pedigree Jerseys at "Lea Rig," Tanckalia, yesterday, was one of the most successful which had ever been held in the North. With the keen competition aroused among buyers for the animals of the famous Loo strain, every lot was cleared at prices which more than held their own with Taranaki. Mr. C. G. C. Dermer, of Cheltenham, Feilding, was one of the heaviest buyers, obtaining seven animals at an average price of 70gs. A total of 04 head was disposed of at the sale, the average price working out 1 at 29gs. Interviewed after the sale, Mr. Dermer, president of the New Zealand Jersey Breeders' Association, who was about the only buyer outside of Northland operating, said he considered the Loo strain of Jersey animals was the finest in the world. Vivandiere and Idalia, lie continued, were the-two finest Jersey cows in the world. Northland farmers, he said,' did not appreciate the value of the strain, aud it was his intention to show them the true worth of the animals.
