TAIKAFtTNTA COUNCIL'S WORK
"Members of the council should be more ,than\ pleased with the financial position of the borough," said Mr.. J. Guiniven, Mayor, at last night's meeting of the Takapuna Borough. Council. The accounts at March 31, 1933, showed an improvement on . the previous year's figures .to. the extent of £2505 on the general, account, while the overdraft account was better by £1954 than .'at March 31, .1932. The council had to shoulder an overdraft of £15,400 when it took office two years ago. At present the overdraft was £12,570. Mr. Guiniven warned the incoming council that it would have to continue to practice economy during the nest; two years, and stated that any increase in capital expenditttra would mean an increase in rates* . •
