TAURANGA COMPETITIONS.
The Tauranga Hockey Association opened its competitions yesterday afternoon in fine weather. True Blues beat United by 6 goals to 3. In ladies' matches Y.M.P. beat Old Girls by i to 3, and Triers beat Aretas by 4 to 3. %

The annual lmeeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association was held last night. Officers elected :—Patron, the GovernorGeneral, Lord Bledisloe; president, Mr. H. S. J. Goodman ; treasurer, Mr. P. N. Quattermaln secretary, Mr."- W. H. Down; management committee, Messrs. B. Grade, H, Throp, A. F. Preston, S. G. Holland. C. Bellamy, I. Gunn and C. C. Holland; auditor. Mr. A. P. Stewart. It was decided that the management committee he recommenced to consider favonrnhlv the .holding of a South Island tournament for associations and subaseociations this season ajid the holding of an inter-Island match.
