; At last night's meeting of the Auckland Rugby Union the following applications for reinstatement were approved for submission, to the New Zealand Union: C. J. Gollan, D. C. Smith, C. M. Fleming, P. ANOTHER SHIELD CHALLENGE.
At last night's meeting of the Maniapoto Rugby Sub-union, at To Kuiti, It was reported that the King Country Rugby Union had forwarded a challenge to Canterbury for the Ranfurly Shield.
KICK-INTO-TOUCH RULE.
OTAGO UNION'S ATTITUDE.
. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") DUNBDIN, this day. The Otago Rugby Football Union decided unaniruouslv against re-Introduction of the amended kick-into-touch rule. The opinion was expressed that non-klcklng Into touch bad absolutely spoiled the game, which had deteriorated while playing under ' the amended rule, which had its origin in Auckland fifteen winters ago.
