BRITAIN SURPRISED.

AUSTRALIAN FILM PROTEST. LONDON, April 12. The "News-Chronicle," in a leading article, says: "The Australian film censor, Mr. Creswell O'Reilly, is entitled to his opinion, especially as it flatters British films, but we are puzzled to learn that there are still too many bath scenes and too much bedroom farce. "If the mild British incursion into this dubious territory shocks Mr. O'Reilly, what in the world would he say about American films?" says the paper. An official of a British film producing company told the "Sydney Sun" that it differs from Mr. O'Reilly that British films show too many bathroom scones and too much bedroom fareo. Only three or four in 60 pictures feature such scenes. The popularity of British films in Australia testifies to their higher standard.
