| Original Stories under this heading are I invited for our Fortnightly Competition. | I. »>->* 111 Ml I I. II I -I 111 M L. -1 The average writer who contributed to this week's short story competition was very unlucky, for three stories showing merit above the average were included in the judging. So diverse were the themes that a final decision was a difficult problem, but finally the judges awarded the 5/ prize to Phyllis Hughes, Feilding, age 15, whose story was considered to be the most unusual. "Little Sister," by Bathia Luttrell, Bay of Plenty, age 16, and "Castles in the Air," by Alma Wynn, Waihi, age 15, were the other two stories referred to above. Other work to be published was received from Clark Austin, age 16, and Zcla Carter, Taumarunui, age 16. •
