RENATE MULLER RETURNS

"MARRY ME" AT THE PLAZA

Renate Muller, the "Sunshine Susie" girl, returns to the ecene of last year's record-breaking succeed at the Plaza Theatre next Saturday, in the second of her productions for a British studio. The new film is called "Marry Me," and is a romantic comedy with music, following along the lines of "Sunshine Susie." The story, written by Franz Schultz and Ernst Angel, concerns the romance of Ann Linden (Renate Muller), recordist in a large gramophone company, and Robert Ilart (lan Hunter), a happy-go-lucky fellow employee. Renate Muller has two or three tuneful song numbers, including "A Little Sunshine" and the theme song, "Marry Me," and another catchy number is "You're So Wonderful To Me," sung as a quartet. The film is strong in comedy, most of which is provided by George Robey, as a beetlebrowed Hungarian pig farmer in search of a bride, and Harry Green as Beretem, proprietor of a matrimonial bureau. This institution is run on such up to date lines that prospective clients are shown talking pictures of available bride and bridegrooms, thrown on the screen at the bureau's own special miniature picture theatre. Billy Caryll, another comedian well known on the London stage, has an amusing role as Bernstein's assistant. Lan Hunter, who plays opposite Renate Muller, _ is regarded as one of the handsomest juveniles on the West End stage, and others who are prominent in the film comprise Maurice Evans, Charles Hawtrey, jun., Viola Lyel, and Sunday Wilshin. "Marry Me" wae directed by William Thiele, and is the first British production produced by this prominent Continental director. Special stage entertainment will be presented at each evening session.
