At Kandwick the semi-final gallops for the Doncaster meeting were carried out on the middle grass track, which was in good condition. Gaine Carrington beat Winooka over seven furlongs in 1.31, Rogilla, alone, doing the same distance easily in 1.32%. Whitting-ham registered the best five furlongs of the morning, taking 1.3%. Maid of Orleans, Prestige and Miramond took 1.4 for a similar distance. Peter Pan _ had to be ridden right out to beat Denis Boy over a mile in 1.43%. Shadow King beat Eastern Chief, Peter Jackson and Metallurgy over ten furlongs in 2.16%, the last four furlongs taking 51%5. Forestry and Lavington ran a mile together in 1.47._ Jonker ran an easy five furlongs, taking 1.5. Cynical beat Bold Boy easily over seven furlongs in 1.29%, the best of the morning. Autopay did six furlongs in 1.19 easily. Johnnie Jason beat Lady Linden decisively over six furlongs in 1.17. Derroid ran a smart three furlongs, taking 37%5. Golden Hair easily beat Diamond over four furlcmgs in 535. Mr. Kerry ran a mile easily is 1.46, and Closing Time Hid pace work.
