BIBLE SOCIETY'S WORK.

The executive committee of the Auckland auxiliary of the Bible Society held its annual meeting recently. Mr. R. A. Laidlaw presided. Plans were made for the forthcoming annual meeting of the society. For many years past the annual meetings have been held in the leading city churches of one denomination or another, whereas in other countries experience has shown the advantage of meeting in an undenominational building. In many places in Australia, in India, and Colombo, the annual meeting of the British and Foreign Bible Society has become the greatest of all Christian meetings of the •year.
