RACE TO CORNWALLIS. MODEL YACHTS. The Ponsonby Model Yacht Club will hold its final series of races for this season during the week-end. The first event is the 3£t championship for Mr. G. E. haycock's trophy. The second will be the 4tt championship for Mr. F. J. Cooper's trophy. A handicap race for the 3-footers and one for 4-footers, for club prizes, will follow, if time permits a general handicap will be held for allcomers. In this race the boars will start together, but in the other two handicaps time will be given at the start. The entries for the 3ft championship include Tamariki, Peri, X.L.N.C., Monarch and Snray. For the 4-foot championship Clara," Irene. Rona, Bullet, Floris, Sea Spray and Scout will compete. Visitors are welcome and are eligible for all races except the club championships. . . At a meeting of the club on Monday evening the conditions drawn up at a joint meeting of the Ponsonby Cruising Club and the Model Yacht Club for conducting races for the Point Erin and Watchman Cups, donated by the trustees of a former Ponsonby model club, were ratified and the donors thanked.
Mr. R. Murphy said he would like to see ail inter-club-contest for 3 and 4-footers held before the season concluded, with teams of three boats-in each class. It was decided to write to the Manukau Senior Model Club and the Orakei Basin Model Club suggesting that teams of three boats in the 3ft and 4ft classes meet on their own course. The first contest to be held at Manukau between boats of the local club and Ponsonby, the second to be held on the Orakei Basin between, the Orakei boats and Ponsonby, the finals to be sailed off between the winners over the Ponsonby Club's course. By this means the fastest boats in both classes will be found. If favourably considered the races will be run on Saturday afternoons suitable to the other clubs.
MANUKAU MODEL CLUB. The Manukau Senior Model Yacht Club will continue its series of races on Saturday afternoon,-.when the finals of the Harrison and Jackson Cups will be decided. After the cup finals handicap races will be held for classes A and B. ORAKEI MODEL CLUB. The Orakei Basin Model Yacht Club will continue the usual weekly races to-morrow, when the finals of Inst Saturday's events will be sailed between Twilight, Comet, Enterprise, Kohinoor, Rangi, Sea Spray and Monarch. CLUB NOTES. The Manukau Yacht Club held a contest last week for senior members. The races were sailed in the club's 12ft 6in Takapuna class boats, 15 crews competing in the five henta Messrs. Tom Pnrdington, senior and junior, won the silver tankard by the margin of 2 seconds from Messrs. Arthur McLeod and Len. Bray. The oldest skipper was Mr. E. Quigley, who was 74 years of age, and is recognised as one of the oldest yachtsmen on the harbour. The Royal's go-as-you-plfase race between the auxiliary yachts Waitangi, Ilex,and KOtuku, facetiously referred to as "gasolene runabouts," was held last Saturday, the destination being Oneroa Bay, Waiheke. There was. no limit to the use of the engine or sails, and Hex set quite a lot. Waitangi scored a popular win. Ilex being second. The Victoria Club has disqualified Eileen for rounding a mark on the wrong Bide in the general handicap for lfl and 14footers, held last Saturday. This makes Demon the winner, with Stormy second and Desert Gold third. The mistake was made when rounding the Rona buoy the first time. Aileen led round and when passing Demon thelatter's crew kindly drew Aileen's skipper's attention to his mistake. Aileen returned and rounded on the other hand, but failed to enclose the buoy on its required side.

Willett's. of Stanley Bay. and sold by him last winter to an Onehunga yachtsman, is now back on the Waitoinata. She has been purchased by Mr. C. ("Sonny") Clare, who will race her to-morrow in the TaruaUl Club's sweepl stake.
