NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT.
Your fine leader on the rise of Hitler i» thought provoking. Here in New Zealand w e are witnessing an effort to organise a party on military lines to give us "that system oj government best suited to our historical ana geographical needs." A few years ago 2\ enr Zealanders were fighting the authoritarian system of government that is again restored to Germany, i.e., making the world safe for democracy. Are we to believe that the sands who were killed and wounded should have instead hailed the advent of a i» e * Zealand Kaiserism? Is the Hitler sy&tem;o* government supposed to be more in line "with our geographical and historical needs" than the British democratic method? In this age of economic nationalism are we to be asked in the interests of patriotism to repudiate that system of government native to our sacrific 63 and soil and accept a method made in Germany and Italy, a method that must surely fail?
