UNEMPLOYED PROBLEM.

ADDRESS BY MR. SAVAGE.

An address on the unemployed problem was given last evening before an audience of Ponsonby and Heme Bay residents by Mr. M. J. Savage, M.P. Mr. C. W. Aitken presided.

Mr. Savage said that the problem could be solved. There was something wrong with production, and ment could be effected through primary and secondary industries. Parliament could by proclamation take charge of the banks and make advances for production. The fall in prices had caused the depression, and it was now necessary to open up trade with other countries.

Other speakers were Messrs. W. E. Parry, M.P., and F. E. Lark.
