TALLOW, HEMP, FRUIT. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated March 25, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow.—Market • continues quiet, with values nominally unchanged. Hemp.—Manila: Market .-quiet and slightly easier at the close. March-May shipment value £14 10/. Sisal: Closed easier. No. 1, for March-May shipment, £15: No. 2. £14 10/. New Zealand: Market dull, with buyers apathetic. Values nominally unchanged. No iirst hand sales reported. Apples.—Worcester Pearmain, 8/ to 12/; large quantities wasty, average. 11/; Gravenstein, 8/6 to 11/; Alfriston, 10/ to 11/; Cox's Orange, 25/. Pears: 10/. LONDON WOOL SALES. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, March 28. At the wool sales 6959 bales were offered, including 3765 New Zealand. About 5650 were sold. There was steady home and Continental demand. Offerings were mostly cleared at late rates. New Zealand greasy half-bred, Moeraka, top price lOMsd, average 9%d; greasy crossbred, Owera, S%d and 6%d; New Zealand, scoured.
