STONE-THROWING CHARGE. WARNING BY MAGISTRATE. The case at the Otahuhu Magistrate's Court, in which Alfred George Wye, a relief worker, was charged 'before Mr. F H. Levien, S.M., with assaulting Charles Faithful by throwing a stone and striKin~ him on the shoulder while he _ was driving a motor car at Penrose on January 14, was concluded . e " e J; noon. Accused was convicted and fined £5. with costs amounting to £1. Called for the defence, Fred Craig-, a dyer and cleaner, eaid that he was involved in the collision Which had taken place. He saw over 40 men come off the lue in which Wl.ye was travelling. Whye and the bus driver came over *° him and called over the names of thewrt nesses to the collision He Whye could not have thrown the atone which hit Faithful. . .. Frpri G Wain,- bus driver, told, now fine," added the magistrate.
