INTEREST SAVING.
THANEPOBX BOARD'S POSITION. "Assuming that there have been no recent changes in the domicile of debentures of the original loan of £1,250,000, it is estimated that the reduction in interest payable in eW Zealand by the board and authorised by the recent legislation will amount to £8310 a year. The advisability of arranging to convert some or all of the board's loans is teing investigated and a report will be submitted later." The above statement was made by the chairman of the Auckland Transport Board, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, this morning, when referring to the Local Authorities Interest Reduction Lo an Conversion Act, 1932-33.
