FAILED TO CLEAR WEEDS.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PAHIATUA, this day. A Hukanui farmer, Gordon Udy, was fined £10' for failing to clear ragwort and blackberry. The inspector reported adversely on the spread of ragwort. Defendant pleaded that his farm was infested with the pest when he took it over, and it was costly to clear.
