STREET APPEAL.
PLUNKET SOCIETY'S "WORK. "Everybody seeme to be giving, although the coins are mostly of the smaller denominations," eaid a lady collector at one of the PTunket Society stalle this afternoon. She added, however, that a few generous men had given 10/ and £1 notes. The total of the collection will not be known until late tonight. The Plunket Society, like other organisations, is having difficulty in maintaining its funds. If the society's work of fighting against infant mortality in the Dominion is to go on, the requisite help must be forthcoming. It ie an unfortunate fact that at least 60 per cent of the parents who contributed to the best of their ability in the past now found themselves in the position of being unable to do so.
