WORLD CONFERENCE
"FAIR DISTANCE OFF." PRIME MINISTER'S OPINION. STABILITY NEEDED FIRST. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. Although expert committees have been working for some months on the possible agenda paper of the forthcoming World Economic Conference, and although some findings of the committees have been pilbliehed in other- countries, the New Zealand Government has not yet been advised of the nature of these findings. A statement to this effect was made to-day by the Prime Minister, who said it was probable, that the expert committees had reported to the British Government only. He took it that the British authorities would advise the Dominions in due course, but there did not seem to be any urgency in connection with the matter, for the conference seemed yet a fair distance off. Mr. Forbes said he did not think it possible that the conference date would be fixed until s.ome sort of political stability had been achieved by the Powers concerned. New Zealand's attitude towards the conference would natuoally be influenced by Britain's policy.
