COMMUNICATION RESTORED. TEMPORARY BRIDGE. With the completion last evening of the construction of a temporary lowlevel bridge over the Whakapapanui River, road communication with the? Chateau Tongariro has been restored. Every point is now accessible, and many cars reached the Chateau this morning. In addition to numerous callers 10 new iruests arrived. No decision has been made as to when the work will be undertaken of permanently replacing the bridge which was washed away in Tuesday's Hoods. - Replenishment of foodstuff supplies has been completed. Throughout yesterday the improvised wire connection across £lie stream was used for this purpose. Although fairly light in structure, the new bridge , will carry motor traffic. The Chateau's sources of power and water have been made safe, and normal conditions, including fine weather, have returned.
