"AN EXPERIMENT."
TRANSPORT ALLIANCE'S VIEW. ' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The New Zealand Road Transport Alliance, representing operators of longdistance goods vehicles, approves the principle of regulation and licensing. Mr. H. J. Knight, the eecretary, said that licensing and control were regarded as an experiment. The Transport Department Lad discussed it 3 proposals with tlie vehicle operators, and had modified various points in the draft regulations. The trial would provide data for amendments. If the operations were given a reasonable lxearing, the regulations should ultimately benefit goods carriers.
