AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.
INVESTMENT STOCKS AND SHARES. COMPARISONS OF RECENT TRANSACTIONS. TO TUESDAY, MARCH. 21, 1933.* The following table furnishes a guide to investors. It shows the trend of the market over twelve months for a comprehensive list of securities, at the same time indicating the latest movements, namely, from a week ago to the date of compilation. The rate of interest obtainable to present-day purchasers is also presented, the calculation based on the latest dividends. A special feature of the latest returns is the continued attention given by investors to Government bonds, which, however, have shown a slight casing tendency within the past few days. Insurances continue as the strongest section and it will be noted that further increases have taken place. The margin between current values and those ruling a year ago in this class is very substantial. The market tone generally is confident and steady, though the spread of investment still continues limited. However, such industrial securities as pass the test of careful investigation have risen in price, and it will be seen that as a consequence the interest return is proportionately lower.
