BLIND INSTITUTE.

NEW TRUSTEE APPOINTED,

At a meeting of the board of trustees of the New Zealand Institute for the Blind, Mr. J. B. Henry, late manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, was appointed to the board to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Mr. H. E. Vaile.

Mr. Vaile was appointed to the board fourteen years ago, and acted as chairman from 1925 to 1928. He resigned owing to the great number of activities in which he is interested, and said it would be a pleasure to again join the board at some future date, should his services be desired. Mr. Vaile has always taken the greatest interest in the work of the Institute, and has been a keen advocate of its wider development. His resignation was accepted by the board "with much regret.
