RENT RESTRICTION.
EXTENDED "UNTIL OCTOBER 31. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLING-TON, this day. The House passed yesterday legislation extending until October 31 next the duration of the law as to the restriction of rents. Mr. Coates stated last night that the present law would expire in July, and as the House might not l>.e in session at that time, the Government thought it wise to extend the operation of the present law.
