PILKINGTON WINS.
ROTORUA BOWLING TOURNEY. ROBERTSON DOWN IN FINAL. HAMILTONIAN BEATS CHAMPION. There was a good attendance for the last day of the Rotorua Bowling Club's annual open championship rinks tournament, which terminated yesterday. The weather remained fine until 5 o'clock, when the tenth head of the final was in progress, and a shower stopped play for a time. Results:— Elimination Match, alter post-section play.—McDowell, Herd, Fowkes, Butt (Rotorua) 26, v. Gibson, Buckley, Green, Geo. Stewart (Matamata) 12. Semi-finals.—Sutherland, Bayers, Livingstone, H. A. Robertson (Onehunga) 30, v. Taylor, Elliott, Ball, W. J. Truscott (Carlton) B—a runaway victory for last year's champions); Pomeroy, Robinson, Hawken, Pilkington (Hamilton) 25, v. Butt (Rotorua) 20. Final. —Pilkington (Hamilton) 24, beat Robertson (Onehunga) 15. Holder of Title Defeated. In the match between Pilkington and Robertson (whose rink won the championship last year) the Onehunga team scored a point on the first head. In tiie next Sutherland drew the shot, and Sayers added a second, Hawken saved one, but Pilkington promoted a short bowl into shot. Robertson 1, Pilkington 1. On the third head Pomeroy drew two shots, and Robinson added a third. Sayers, however, drew the second shot. Livingstone drove twice at the shot bowl, but missed, and Robertson drove the kitty back, only to be two down. Pilkington drew a third shot, Robertson failing to save. Pilkington 4, Robertson 1. Pomeroy put two more on kitty, but Sutherland, with a rub, drew the shot in turn. Pilkington drew off the shot bowl, but was robbed by Robertson. Pilkington 4, Robertson 2. Pomeroy drew the next shot, Robinson adding two more. Livingstone drove into the head and took out his own bowl, making Pilkington 4 up. With his second drive Livingstone cut out two. Hawken, however, added a third. Robertson drove at the head, carrying kitty into the ditch. Pilkington laid the shot dead on the edge of the ditch to score. Pilkington 5, Robertson 2. On the sixth head Pomeroy drew a toucher, Robinson adding a second. Sayers sprung the kitty back, but Hamilton still scored. Livingstone drove twice at the head to miss. Pilkington 6, Robertson 2. Pomeroy drew the shot, which position was not altered by the skips. Pilkington 7, Robertaon 2. Pomeroy drew two beauties, Robinson adding another. Sayers "rested" one back, and Livingstone drove into the head, leaving his opponents 1 up. Pilkington drew two more. Robertson drove twice at the head, but missed. Pilkington 10, Robertson 2. On the ninth head Robinson drew the shot, only to be robbed by Sayers, Livingstone adding a second. The skips failed to alter the position. Pilkington 10, Robertson 4. Sutherland drew two shots, and Sayers one on a full-length head. Robinson saved one, but Livingstone added another, and also Tn'omoted a short bowl for a "counter," making Onehunga 4 up. Hawken "killed" the head, and the replay was fatal to Onehunga, the Hamiltonians scoring five. Pilkington 15, Robertson 4.
[ Sutherland drew the shot on the eleventh head, Sayers adding a second. Hawken trailed kitty back for two, Pilkington adding a third. Robertson failed to draw a "saver." Pilkington 18, .Robertson 4. Pomeroy drew the next shot, and Robinson promoted a short one for a second. Livingstone drove one out, and then Robertson drew two perfect shots on kitty. Pilkington 18, Robertson 0. On the thirteenth Sutherland drew a toucher, but Pomeroy robbed him, liobineon drawing a second. Livingstone trailed kitty for three, Robertson adding another, while Pilkington failed to reach the head. Pilkington 18, Robertson 10. Pomeroy scored with a - toucher, Hawken adding a second. Robertson failed to run them off. Pilkington 20, Robertson 10. A measure head in the fifteenth was declared a tie. Pilkington 20, Robertson 10. Pilkington continued to hold his lead, the scores on the remaining heads being: Sixteenth, 22 —10; seventeenth, 22 —11 (Robertson finding Tilmself one up, amid laughter, after trying to "kill" the head); eighteenth, 22 —13; nineteenth, 22—15. Being seven down, and only two heads to play, the Onehunga team made a great effort. Sutherland threw a long jack and drew two touchers, Sayers adding a third. Hawken trailed kitty for two, the "counters" being wide of the jack, giving Robertson a bare jack to drive at. He failed with both drives, the game going to the Hamilton side. Pilkington 24, Robertson 15.

TE AWAMUTU FINAL,
The final game of the To Awamutu Bowling Club's full-rink tournament was completed late on Thursday afternoon. The first seven of the eleven heads were played on Wednesday evening, when rain caused a postponement. The teams were: K .W. McCarter, S. Dowds, S. McMillan and \V. J. North v. H. Brill, S. Clark, Tj. G. Armstrong and T. W. Gee. The game ended 13—10 In favour of Gee's team, who thus won the tournament.
