WAJMAKARIRI RIVER IN HEAVY FLOOD.—Heavy flooding of the Waimakariri River, Canterbury, last Wednesday resulted in cattle being marooned at Coutts Island. The river was from six to seven feet above < normal level in the morning. This photograph gives an idea of the volume of water flowing down the river.
