POLICY ENDORSED

(British Official Wireless.) (Received 12 noon.) RUGBY, February 3. The result of the by-election in East Fife, caused by the death of' the former Liberal National member, Sir J. Duncan Millar, K.C., was: — Mr. J. H. Stuart (Lib.-Nat.) .. 15,770 Mr. Westwood (Lab.) 6,035 Mr. Anderson (Agricul. party) . 4,404 The Independent- Liberal and Scottish Nationalist forfeited his deposit. The Prime Minister, Mr. Mac Donald, sent his congratulations to Mr. Stuart on his magnificent victory. Sir John Simon declared that the 1 result shows how strongly the country feels that the National Government should have unswerving support.
