AERO CLUB DANCE.

THE SOUTHERN CROSS.

Peter Pan Cabaret was the scene of a brilliant assemblage last evening, when the famous pilot, Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, together with his associates on the recent Tasman flight, were the guests of honour at a dance given under the auspices of the Auckland Aero Club.

The new ventilation scheme of the cabaret was highly appreciated, and the coolness was added to by the huge blocks of ice which were placed round the dancing floor. They rested in gailydecorated stands. Electric fans assisted to throw variegated i coloured lights over the dancers. Summer flowers were used in profusion for the cubicles, and numerous pot plants added to the cool breezes, which were thrown on the guests by the electric plant.

Among the numerous dance items was a number entitled "Tasman Hop,'' composed by one of the orchestra, and dedicated to the guest of honour.

Sir Charles, Mr. J. W. Stannage, Mr. Wilfred Kingsford Smith, Mr. J. Percival, of Sydney, and Mr. S. C. Nielson, of New Plymouth, were received on their arrival by Mr. E. R.
