VESSEL DISAPPEARS.
MYSTERIOUS STRANGER,
(Received 10.30 a.m.) BRISBANE, this day. Reports from Thursday Island state that a mysterious vessel, like a Japanese fishing proa, of about 50 tons, was seen in. Torres Strait. Attempts to intercept the stranger were foiled by rain squalls, in which the ship disappeared.
