ANTHRAX PANIC.

GERMS IN ELEPHANT ALARM,

KOBE, January 19,

Some having cut their hands as a result of clumsy dissecting, there was a panic among the staff of the Takaradzuka Zoo, near Osaka, when anthrax germs were found In an elephant after it had been dissected.

All the animals in the zoo will be inoculated or killed.

A severe snowstorm prevented the departure of aeroplanes which would have rushed with serum to Osaka.
